Our story

We started LegacyVet to give this community hospital level care without the drive to the city. We are owner operated, so when you call you are as likely to reach our owner as our front desk.

Ft. Gibson and Stilwell are our home too. We know your animals, and most days, we know you.

Since 2015

Locally owned Family run

Large animal care

We still make farm calls

Horses, cattle and other large animals get the same attentive, unhurried care as the dog on your couch. Wellness, surgery and internal medicine, at our Stilwell location or at your place.

Owner operated means we are here, in the building, most days.

Dr. Danny Kester

Owner

Dr. Kester started LegacyVet to give this community full veterinary care, for pets and for livestock, without the drive to the city. He is in the building most days, and he is often the one who picks up the phone.

Kacy

Owner

Kacy runs LegacyVet alongside Dr. Kester. Together they built a practice where the owners are close by, and where clients are known by name.

Backed by a team of veterinarians, technicians and front desk staff who feel like family.

Every kind of family. Every kind of patient

How we work

What you can expect from us

You talk to a person. Appointments are made by phone, and the person who answers can tell you whether your animal needs to come in today. There is no phone tree to get through before you reach someone who can help.

We explain before we treat. Before a test, a vaccine or a surgery, we tell you what it is for and what it costs. You make the decision.

We see the whole family. Dogs and cats at both clinics, horses and cattle at Stilwell or on your place, and after-hours emergency care at Ft. Gibson.

Cost should not stop care. We work with Cherry and CareCredit so you can spread out the cost of care.

We tell you what we do not do. We do not see exotic animals such as birds, reptiles or pocket pets, and we would rather tell you that up front than waste your time.

Why two locations

Our Stilwell clinic is the home base for everyday care and for our large animal work. From there, we see dogs and cats, and we head out on farm calls for horses and cattle. Read more about our Stilwell clinic.

Our Ft. Gibson hospital is our main location. It stays open into the night for emergencies, from 5 PM to 12 AM, and it is where we offer boarding. Read more about our Ft. Gibson hospital.

Between them, we serve families and farms between Coweta and Fayetteville, along the Highway 412 and I-40 corridors. One team works across both, so the people who know your animal are never far away. Whichever clinic you call, your animal’s history comes with you.
