Overview
One clinic for every stage of your pet's life
Small animal care at LegacyVet covers the day-to-day health of your dogs and cats. That means yearly checkups and vaccines, sick visits, surgery, and long-term care for pets with ongoing conditions.
You see the same small team at each visit. Over time we learn what is normal for your pet, so it is easier to spot when something changes. And because appointments are made by phone, you can tell a real person what is going on before you ever come in.
What is included

What a small animal visit looks like
Most visits start the same way. We weigh your pet, ask how things have been at home, and do a nose-to-tail exam. We look at the eyes, ears, teeth, skin and coat. We listen to the heart and lungs and feel the belly and joints.
Then we talk with you about what we found. If your pet needs vaccines, tests or a treatment, we explain why before we do it. If a problem needs more time, we set up a plan and a follow-up visit. Our goal is that you leave knowing what was done and what to watch for at home.
Call to book a visit for your dog or cat. A person answers, and we can tell you what to bring.
Care that changes as your pet ages
Puppies and kittens need a series of vaccines and a plan for spay or neuter surgery. Adult pets usually need a yearly exam, booster shots and steady parasite prevention. Senior pets often do better with more frequent checkups, since problems like kidney disease, arthritis and dental disease are more common with age.
We match the care to the stage your pet is in. Read more about wellness and preventive care, or about internal medicine for long-term conditions.
When it cannot wait
Some problems should not wait for the next open appointment. Vomiting that will not stop, a pet that will not eat, a limp that came on fast or a cut that is still bleeding are reasons to call us the same day. During regular hours, call the location closest to you and tell us what is happening.
After hours, our Ft. Gibson hospital is the place to go. Our emergency care page lists the signs that mean you should come in right away. Call first so we can be ready when you arrive.
Grooming and boarding under one roof
Your pet can also see us for grooming and, at Ft. Gibson, for boarding while you travel. Having both inside an animal hospital means a doctor is close by if a groomer finds a lump, a skin problem or a sore ear.
We see dogs and cats. We do not see exotic animals such as birds, reptiles or pocket pets.
